Time Will Not Heal Your Pain...But This Will

Time does not heal pain, but putting in work does.

I’ve gone through a lot of different traumas in my short life time. Abuse, neglect, manipulation, illness, and parents of divorce.

While time did/does help with healing from all of these things, it’s what I did with that time that determined how I healed the most.

What you should NOT do with time:⠀

  • Neglect your pain.⠀

  • Ignore your feelings.⠀

  • Suppress your negative thoughts.

What you SHOULD do with time:⠀

  • Feel your pain, for as long as you need.⠀

  • Embrace your feelings, for they are valid.⠀

  • Talk through your negative thoughts, for they deserve to be heard.

I’ve met so many people who have not healed from their pain or trauma 10+ years after it occurred. I’ve also met so many people who HAVE healed from their trauma not even one year after it occurred.

Time is not the difference. The difference is you. Don’t wait for time to put in the work. Don’t wait for time to accept your feelings. Don’t wait for time to allow you to forgive yourself. Time will only ASSIST in healing your pain or trauma, but forgiving yourself, telling yourself you’re worth it, and putting in the work to be a happier, healthier you won’t happen unless YOU do it.

You’ve got this, you have a world full of people who have felt what you’re feeling too, and you’re absolutely never alone. ❤️⠀
