I Had My Teenage Life Taken Away From Me
I had my teenage life taken away from me.
At age 15 years old I was diagnosed with 3 serious medical conditions, I was forced to be home schooled, I lost most of my friends friends, and I couldn’t leave the house most days because I was too sick.
This was my teenage life. This is what I lived. Instead of rolling over and accepting that this was it, I decided to use my hardships, my illnesses, and my VERY sh*tty situation to help people instead. I wanted to share about my experiences with my illnesses and being gluten-free at a young age, so I did. I started my first business, “GlutenAway”, at age 15 years old.
What started as a blog to help people who are gluten-free turned into a marketing career to help people in general. I never viewed any of this as a business until it became one. Since day one of writing my first blog post at 15 years old to this very moment, I’ve been lucky enough to say that making the most of my situation is what lead me to become the happiest I’ve ever been. ⠀ I’m blessed to do what I do and I don’t resent anything I’ve gone through because it’s brought me right here. It’s made me who I am, helped me meet those that I love, and helped me discover my purpose and career. ⠀ If I can say anything about dealing with any sort of invisible illness or even any type of hardship, it’s this. A happy life isn’t determined by what happens to you, it’s determined by how you react to it. Life will never be easy no matter how easy everyone else’s life looks. Know that no matter what you’re going through there is someone out there who understands and someone out there who cares enough to help you feel like you can get through it too. ❤️
