Learning to Never Be Ashamed for Who I Am

June 25, 2019

As a kid and now adult, I never understood why people would say hurtful things to me for being who I am.

I wear the clothes that I want to. I care about the things that I want to. I feel what I feel and I love who I love. To be honest, I would even argue that this is the best way to live. I already have physical limitations from my invisible illnesses, so why put any other limitations on myself based on what makes other people happy?

I may be young, but I’m learning young that I should never be ashamed of becoming whoever the hell I want to be. I know I don’t have a long time on this earth; none of us do. But that’s why I want spend every second trying to be happy with who I am and 0 seconds apologizing for being me.

At the end of the day, you are all that you’re left with. I may be a “woke” 22 year old (I hate that millennial term 😂), but know that it’s never too late to work on yourself or become whoever you want to be too. ❤️
